Oak Run Committees

There are many ways to become involved in your community. One of the best ways is to volunteer to serve on a committee. Volunteering will give you the opportunity to meet other property owners with similar interests and the ability to learn more about the functions of your association.

The following are a list of the committees and their purposes. If you are interested in getting involved, please click on the link to the Committee Interest Form.

Architectural and Environmental Control (AEC) Committee
This committee is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for the review and approval of any proposed construction projects within the community. The care, planning and development has placed Oak Run in a position to evolve as an aesthetically pleasing community. The degree to which this is achieved is very much dependent upon the Committee’s ability to process applications, administer and enforce current standards and propose the adoption of reasonable rules.

The AEC Committee meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the POA office at 1:30 p.m. or on an as-needed basis.

Camper's Village Committee
It is the duty of this committee to make recommendations which promotes the general health and welfare of Camper's Village for the benefit of all campers. Issues which fall within this charge are, but not limited to, maintenance, social activities, enforcement of rules and long range planning.

The Camper's Village Committee meets on the second Saturday of the months of April thru October at 9:00 a.m. at Campers Village

The Committee also monitors and makes recommendations regarding lake stocking.

Oak Run First Responders and Fire Fighters
The First Responders (FR) and Fire Fighters (FF) are full-time Oak Run resident volunteers with a fire truck and emergency equipment vehicle garaged at the corner of Oak Run Drive and Lake View South, serving Oak Run and the surrounding area. They are under the direction of the Williamsfield Fire Protection District consisting of two ambulances, five fire trucks, two brush rigs, three First Responder vehicles, and a Fire/Rescue boat located on the lake. The fire district volunteers are on call 24/7. The FRs and FFs are called to 9-1-1 emergencies and are first on the scene. Fire Fighters are trained through classes held by Western Illinois Fire Fighters Association and Illinois Fire Service Institute. They are called to fires and car accidents. First Responders are part of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) trained by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) with continuing education in medical and first aid emergencies, CPR, and AED (defibrillator). They are called to medical emergencies, fires, and car accidents, staying with the patient until the ambulance arrives and leaves with him/her for the hospital. Oak Run is also serviced by Knoxville and Victoria Fire Protection Districts and Galesburg Hospitals Ambulance Service (GHAS).

The First Responders sponsor a monthly free blood pressure check for the community, which is held on the fourth Saturday of the month from 9-10 a.m. at the First Responder garage. They also sponsor a food drive for the FISH Food Pantry in Galesburg.

Volunteers meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM at the First Responder garage. They are always in need of new members; no previous medical or fire fighting training required.
