Architectural and Environmental Control (AEC) Committee
This committee is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for the review and approval of any proposed construction projects within the community. The care, planning and development has placed Oak Run in a position to evolve as an aesthetically pleasing community. The degree to which this is achieved is very much dependent upon the Committee’s ability to process applications, administer and enforce current standards and propose the adoption of reasonable rules.
The AEC Committee meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the POA office at 1:30 p.m. or on an as-needed basis.
Camper's Village Committee
It is the duty of this committee to make recommendations which promotes the general health and welfare of Camper's Village for the benefit of all campers. Issues which fall within this charge are, but not limited to, maintenance, social activities, enforcement of rules and long range planning.
The Camper's Village Committee meets on the second Saturday of the months of April thru October at 9:00 a.m. at Campers Village.
Please Note: the April 2019 Camper’s Village Committee meeting will be held on the third Saturday of the month (April 20, 2019) at 9:00 a.m. at the Camper’s Village pavilion.
Community Relations and Publicity Committee
The purpose of this committee is to provide information to the property owners that relates to the Oak Run community. Duties of this committee include: publishing the Communicator paper five times a year, placing notices of upcoming events, and sponsoring activities as a means of stimulating community interest and involvement.Communicator Article Deadlines:
FEBRUARY 25 April/May Issue APRIL 25 June/July Issue JUNE 25 Aug./Sept. Issue AUGUST 25 Oct./Nov. Issue OCTOBER 25 Dec./ Jan./ Feb./Mar. Issue Copy must be received by 5:00 p.m. at the POA office, on or before the due date, for inclusion in the Communicator relative to that issue. *Please note the deadline changes! The Communicator will be sent to the printer five days after the due date. No Exceptions.
The Community Relations and Publicity Committee meets on the last Monday of the month at 2:00 p.m. at the POA office during the months of January, March, July, and September. They meet at the same time and place on the last Tuesday of the month of May.
Fish and Sports Committee
This committee is responsible for the planning and conducting of various sporting and fishing events throughout the year. The Committee currently oversees the spring and fall Bass tournaments, Kids' fishing derby and the deer management program. The Committee also monitors and makes recommendations regarding lake stocking.
The Fish and Sports Committee meets on the second Tuesday of the months of February through November, at 6:30 p.m. at the Brentwood Lounge.
Safety Committee
This committee is generally responsible to act as a liaison with local law enforcement agencies, fire districts and conservation officials. The Committee also recommends rules and regulations to the Board of Directors for the overall safety of the members using the lake and common facilities.
The Safety Committee meets on the second Saturday of the months of April - September at 9:00 a.m. at the Brentwood Lounge.
Spoon Lake Activity Team (SLAT) Committee
This committee’s purpose is to organize and offer Oak Run property owners and their guests an alternative source for social activities held within the Oak Run community. The Committee hosts several community oriented events throughout the year. These events include: a passport event on the lake, a scavenger hunt and bonfire, a flick and float event in the summer, the Labor Day boat tie-off, a summer swing golf event, and more. The SLAT Committee meets on the first Thursday of the months of February through November at 6:30 p.m. at the Watering Hole, as available.

Oak Run First Responders and Fire Fighters
The First Responders (FR) and Fire Fighters (FF) are full-time Oak Run resident volunteers with a fire truck and emergency equipment vehicle garaged at the corner of Oak Run Drive and Lake View South, serving Oak Run and the surrounding area. They are under the direction of the Williamsfield Fire Protection District consisting of two ambulances, five fire trucks, two brush rigs, three First Responder vehicles, and a Fire/Rescue boat located on the lake. The fire district volunteers are on call 24/7. The FRs and FFs are called to 9-1-1 emergencies and are first on the scene. Fire Fighters are trained through classes held by Western Illinois Fire Fighters Association and Illinois Fire Service Institute. They are called to fires and car accidents. First Responders are part of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) trained by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) with continuing education in medical and first aid emergencies, CPR, and AED (defibrillator). They are called to medical emergencies, fires, and car accidents, staying with the patient until the ambulance arrives and leaves with him/her for the hospital. Oak Run is also serviced by Knoxville and Victoria Fire Protection Districts and Galesburg Hospitals Ambulance Service (GHAS).
The First Responders sponsor a monthly free blood pressure check for the community, which is held on the fourth Saturday of the month from 9-10 a.m. at the First Responder garage. They also sponsor a food drive for the FISH Food Pantry in Galesburg.
Volunteers meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM at the First Responder garage. They are always in need of new members; no previous medical or fire fighting training required.
